"Fed up with fads and features? Give the 777 Inferno slots a spin and enjoy a little old school bandit action"

There’s not much to say about this particular online slot!  The 777 Inferno or Triple 7 Inferno is a three reel, old school, one armed bandit that brings retro gaming to a computer screen near you.  The online slot was developed by RTG (Realtime Gaming) in 1999.  The game has been around for more than a decade and – to be honest – it looks and plays like it.

RTG is one of the few software developers that licenses to US facing casinos. The business is notoriously secretive and reveals little from its Costa Rican location.  However, the quality of their online slots is unambiguous:  they’re good.

Triple 7 Inferno is a rather quaint online incarnation of a casino floor classic.  You can easily imagine a clutch of coffin-dodging geriatric gamblers blowing their pension and life savings on this little beauty. They should have added a coin bucket, a cheaply perfumed cocktail waitress, and badly frayed patterned casino carpet to complete the illusion.

Flaming Reels

OK. Let’s talk about the game: we have three reels, symbols are various versions of ‘7s’ and BARSs and the ‘Inferno’ really only fires up on the game’s key symbol: a flaming 7. Line up three of these hot little numbers with a three credit play and its jackpot time.

You select your coin size. The value ranges from 5p up to £5. You can then choose to play three credits – a maximum wager

Note: (and this is important), some casinos offer a ‘house’ progressive on this game. I played Triple 7 Inferno online slots at BoDog and the progressive jackpot was around $70. You only win the progressive, if you play three coins. Had I played two coins, I would have qualified for 200 times my line bet which was £1. In short, I was better off playing two coins that trying to hit the rather feeble progressive. I suspect that the game will automatically pay you 1,000 coins, if the progressive is lower than this.

Lucky Sevens

There is only one payline and only seven possible winning combinations. The amount won will vary depending on the amount of coins played with one spin. The top prizes can only be won, if you bet the maximum of three coins on one spin.

Let’s be honest: 777 Inferno online slots was created in 1999. back then, developers were trying to create a lifelike online representation of a casino slot machine – and that is exactly what you have here. No frills, no features, and – to be honest – no thrills…

In Conclusion

I’m not sure who will be attracted to this game. Perhaps, an older gamer who won a big jackpot on this machine in 2001. Maybe a player who has played this game in a real casino. Who knows. The fact is: it’s a fun game to play with a handful of symbols are the chance to win a bucket of cash.

I enjoyed playing the game but it didn’t keep me hooked for long. The one biggest mistake the developers made with this game was not letting you pull the one armed bandit’s handle. Why spend all that time building a crank you can’t yank?

Betty Says...

Well, what’s wrong with a little old school lovin’ from time to time? When I get fed up playing Thunderstruck II and yearn for the simple things in life, I give good old Triple 7 Inferno a spin. Ironically, it’s unlikely to set the world on fire but it warms the cockles of my gaming heart. Don’t be hard on this classic. The game has been around for more than a decade, so it clearly has its fans!
